Hey there lovelies, today I’d like to share my thoughts on Makeup Revolution Renaissance Glow palette and compare it to Charlotte Tilbury’s Filmstar Bronze & Glow. Are they dupes? Keep reading if you wish to find out.
Makeup Revolution, as you may already know, is an affordable cosmetics brand that is known for making great dupes for higher end makeup products. And they have really stepped up their game with the new Renaissance collection – beautiful packaging and in my opinion great quality products.
Renaissance Glow palette is a contour palette containing two powders, one to sculpt and one to highlight. The packaging is just stunning – it comes in a form of a purse with a clasp system – looks elegant, expensive and travel friendly. It also comes with a black pouch to keep it clean if you are on the go.
The contour shade is a light neutral brown with slight shimmering particles and satin finish. Highlighter is a champagne shade, very buttery and pigmented to the touch. They both apply seamlessly and blend easily. The sculpting shade will give you a natural contour and the highlighter will give you a subtle glow that can be easily worn on an every day basis. These lasted for at least 8 hours without any fading.
Comparison
So how does Makeup Revolution Renaissance Glow compare to Charlotte Tilbury’s Filmstar Bronze & Glow in Light to Medium?
They both come in a beautiful and expensive looking packaging. The pattern on the powders is the same (at least it was before I’ve used more than half of my CT one). They both apply smoothly and the finish is the same – natural and subtle. Both of these are best suited for light to medium skin tones. Longevity wise, the same.
Only two differences are the price and the colour of the powders.
Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow is 49 GBP, while Makeup Revolution Renaissance Glow retails for only 8 GBP. Say what?
Makeup Revolution sculpting shade is neutral in tone, while CT one has a warmer tone to it. Highlighters are both champagne like, but CT highlighting powder is more subtle with less shimmer and a golden base, while Makeup Revolution is more pigmented and has a pink base. Below you’ll find swatch comparison of the two.
Dupes or not?
I can most certainly say no. While they are comparable and are both great quality products, they are not the same. Nevertheless, I would still recommend getting Makeup Revolution Renaissance Glow palette. While I love my CT Filmstar Bronze & Glow – it’s one of my all-time-favourite makeup products – you’ll get the same end result with both of them. In the end, it comes down to your budget – if you want to splurge on a makeup product, go with Charlotte Tilbury. If you’d rather save your money, go with Makeup Revolution.
Until next time 🙂
